💨 Abstract
A 19-year-old driver, Elliot Harris, was jailed for one year after causing a car crash in Widnes, Cheshire, that left a 16-year-old girl with a fractured spine. At the time, Harris, who was 17, was showing off by speeding and lost control of his vehicle, hitting the girl. He advised other passengers to flee the scene. The injured girl, who loved dancing, feared she might never walk again.
