💨 Abstract

The author recounts her experiences with "manspreading" on public transportation, where men sit with their legs wide apart, encroaching on others' space. Initially complacent, she decided to push back, reclaiming her space by similarly spreading her legs. This act led to various reactions from men, mostly defensive and aggressive, but also rewarding as she felt empowered. The author views manspreading as a symptom of societal misogyny and sees her actions as a small protest against it.
