💨 Abstract
A Royal Navy destroyer, HMS Duncan, monitored a Russian warship, Vice Admiral Kulakov, in the English Channel under NATO command. This was the first time a Royal Navy ship was tasked by NATO for such an operation. The Dutch Air Force and French Navy also participated. Commander Dan Lee of HMS Duncan emphasized the importance of joint efforts in safeguarding maritime security and upholding international norms. HMS Duncan is part of NATO's Standing Maritime Group 1, which patrols northern European waters.
