💨 Abstract

Having three children is increasingly seen as a status symbol among the wealthy, with celebrities like Holly Willoughby and Kate Middleton setting the trend. However, the economic reality for many families—especially mothers—is far harsher, with high childcare costs and rising poverty making large families unaffordable. For Muslim women, having multiple children is often stigmatized, linked to Islamophobic stereotypes and political rhetoric. The two-child benefit cap further penalizes lower-income families.
