💨 Abstract
A recent survey by the RAC found that four out of five drivers in the UK are concerned about being dazzled by headlights, particularly from modern LED lights on taller vehicles. This issue has contributed to 216 fatal or serious injury crashes in 2023. The Department for Transport is investigating, and new legislation may be introduced to address the problem. Experts also note that an aging driver population, with reduced glare recovery, exacerbates the issue.
