💨 Abstract
In 2024, over 59,000 knives, including 47,795 zombie knives or machetes, were seized or surrendered in England and Wales. Despite a ban, these weapons remain accessible on black markets or online. Knife crime has been a persistent issue, with incidents involving young people, such as the murders of Ronan Kanda and Mikey Roynon.
