💨 Abstract
Authorities in Wales have warned beachgoers after Portuguese Man O’ War—often mistaken for jellyfish—washed up on Aberavon Beach. Their venomous tentacles can cause severe stings, blisters, and in rare cases, life-threatening reactions. Dead tentacles remain dangerous. The Coastguard advises avoiding contact, rinsing stings with seawater, removing tentacles with a card, and immersing the area in hot water for 30 minutes.
