💨 Abstract
A school in Devon has temporarily closed due to an outbreak of scabies, a contagious skin condition caused by mites. At least five schools in the county have reported cases, with seven confirmed at South Devon College. Scabies is characterized by intense itching and red spots, often misdiagnosed as eczema. It spreads through close skin contact and requires treatment with creams or lotions. While not harmful, early detection is crucial to prevent further spread.
