💨 Abstract
A 79-year-old disabled widow, Patricia Ribeiro, was repeatedly pursued for a 2p debt due to a computer error by her former energy supplier, Utilita. Despite switching providers in October, she received numerous letters and calls demanding the small amount. Ribeiro, who needs a new mobility scooter, found the situation stressful and unfair. Utilita apologized, attributing the issue to a "computer rounding error," and assured her no payment was required.
