💨 Abstract

Dementia Disco, founded in 2019 by Kate Derby, provides a supportive and enjoyable environment for people with dementia and their families. Inspired by the positive impact of music on her father, Brian, who had Alzheimer's, Kate and her family organized events with music and dancing to create a sense of community and normalcy. The discos, held in various venues, feature classic music from different decades, subtle lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere.
