💨 Abstract
In the UK, 15 million people live in homes with issues like damp, mould, or cold, which can cause serious health problems. A survey by Health Equals found that nearly half of those affected live with children. Kerrie Portman, who experienced chronic illnesses due to mould in her flat, was repeatedly moved and eventually became homeless again. The survey highlights that poverty and poor housing conditions contribute to health disparities, particularly affecting people of colour, pensioners, and those with respiratory issues.
