💨 Abstract

A homeless woman, Kerri Aherne, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a mother in a New York City department store. Aherne, who had been released from a psychiatric center that morning, claimed voices in her head told her to kill someone. The victim, a tourist from California, was changing her baby's diaper when attacked. She was hospitalized but stable. Aherne had a history of mental health issues and threats against public figures. She was ordered held without bail.
