💨 Abstract

The author describes their family's decision to stop celebrating Christmas after their mother converted to Islam and chose to forgo religious holidays. The author, along with some of their siblings, found relief in no longer feeling obligated to participate in the stressful and commercialized traditions. They now spend December focusing on personal reflection and quality time with family without the pressure of holiday expectations. The author emphasizes the importance of accepting differences and finding peace in their new tradition-free December.
