💨 Abstract
When inspecting a potential new home, pay attention to cracks in walls and ceilings. Use the "10p test": if a 10p coin can fit into the crack, it might indicate serious issues like subsidence. Cracks less than 3mm wide are usually harmless, but diagonal cracks or those wider at the top are concerning. Check both inside and outside the home, especially around windows and doorframes.
