💨 Abstract
Mark Brooks, a 53-year-old fitness enthusiast, contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a severe bacterial infection, after an intense workout while ill. The infection rapidly deteriorated his arm, leading to multi-organ failure. He underwent 25 surgeries over nine weeks, costing nearly £450,000, to save his arm and life. Mark now aims to raise awareness about the infection's symptoms to help others.
