💨 Abstract
A New Year's Eve fire at the Swiss bar Le Constellation in Crans-Montana resulted in 40 deaths and 116 severe injuries. Owners Jacques and Jessica Moretti described how waitress Cyane Panine, whom they considered a 'stepdaughter,' died in the blaze. The fire started from sparklers in champagne bottles, igniting soundproofing foam in the ceiling. The Morettis are facing charges including manslaughter and negligence.
