💨 Abstract

PC hardware shortages are worsening, with major retailers like Sofmap Gaming in Japan reporting empty shelves. The demand for AI technology, which requires significant memory, is driving companies to buy up PC components, leading to severe stock shortages. This issue is not limited to Japan; global PC gamers are also facing higher prices and limited availability. The shortages may persist as long as AI demand grows, potentially delaying the launch of next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 6 and next Xbox.
