💨 Abstract

On June 26, 2021, the author's son, Charlie, died at 32 due to complications from epilepsy. Charlie had been managing his condition with medication, but a series of failures in the healthcare system led to him running out of his prescription. Despite multiple attempts to secure an emergency refill, Charlie did not receive his medication in time.
