đź’¨ Abstract
Glasgow City Council approved an AI-generated mural for a city center wall, sparking criticism. The preliminary design features distorted eagles, oddly-eyed cows, and a steam locomotive, leading Scots to describe it as "AI slop." Critics, including local MP Paul Sweeney, argue that Glasgow's talented street artists could create better artwork. The mural's proposer, Derek Paterson, insists the final design will be improved by a human artist and celebrate Scotland's heritage and sustainable energy.
