💨 Abstract

Airports in Thailand, Nepal, and Taiwan are implementing Covid-style health checks due to a potential Nipah virus outbreak in India. Two nurses in West Bengal were infected after treating a patient who died from an unknown disease. Nipah, a rare and deadly virus spread by fruit bats, has no vaccine or cure. Symptoms range from flu-like to severe brain inflammation. Countries are screening travelers and enhancing precautions to prevent the virus's spread.
