The author recounts her escape from an abusive relationship. After years of emotional and physical abuse from her husband, Paul, she finally sought help when he broke her wrist and gave her a black eye. With the support of hospital staff, police, social services, and Women’s Aid, she fled to her parents' house. Legal advice helped her secure non-molestation and occupation orders, leading to a court ruling that restricted Paul's contact with her and their children.
