💨 Abstract
Gillian Best's life changed dramatically when she was 19, experiencing severe bone pain that led to a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and later Crohn’s disease. Her condition causes fluctuating pain, affecting her daily activities and independence. Despite the challenges, she manages her pain with medication and exercise, and has written a book, "Chronic: Understanding Pain," to raise awareness about chronic pain management.
