💨 Abstract
Kara Tointon, an EastEnders actress, underwent a double mastectomy and had her fallopian tubes removed after testing positive for the BRCA1 gene, which increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. She discovered this after her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Tointon has been open about her journey, encouraging others to get checked and communicate openly about their health.
