💨 Abstract
The U.S. military used GBU-72 Advanced 5k Penetrator bombs, nicknamed "bunker busters," to target missile sites along Iran's coastline. These 5,000-pound bombs are designed to penetrate deeply buried targets, such as missile silos, using advanced modeling and simulation techniques. The bombs are surrounded by steel and have a hardened ferro-cobalt alloy warhead, allowing them to burrow through concrete and explode at a specific depth.
