💨 Abstract
In January, tensions escalated between Denmark and the U.S. over Greenland, with Denmark preparing for a potential military confrontation. Danish troops stockpiled blood and planned to destroy airport runways in case of a U.S. invasion. The situation was compared to the threat level of April 1940. Trump had threatened tariffs on the UK and Europe if they didn't support his purchase of Greenland, a strategically important Arctic territory.
