💨 Abstract
Ascend Airways, a 'wet-lease' carrier operating from Gatwick and Stansted Airports, has cancelled all flights and surrendered its UK Air Operator’s Certificate. The company, which provided fully-crewed planes to other airlines, cited economic pressures and the jet fuel crisis due to the conflict in Iran as reasons for its shutdown. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz and subsequent fuel price hikes have significantly impacted the aviation industry, leading Ascend to cease operations.
