💨 Abstract

Marius Borg Hoiby, the eldest son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was sentenced to four years in prison for two counts of rape and other charges, including assault and drug offenses. Despite not holding a royal title, his trial gained international attention due to his royal connections. The Norwegian royal family has maintained that he is not a public figure but acknowledged their love and support for him. Hoiby's lawyers plan to appeal the verdict.
