💨 Abstract

Elon Musk asserts that AI and robotics are the only ways to achieve universal high wages globally. He warns that a welfare state and free immigration could bankrupt countries. Meanwhile, former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon and Anthropic's alignment science lead Evan Hubinger have expressed grave concerns about AI's potential to cause human extinction. Musk's stance contrasts with his previous support for slowing AI development, as advocated by Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Sam Altman.
