💨 Abstract
Sophie Price, whose newborn daughter Florence was in intensive care, was denied food because she was formula-feeding. Despite her pleas and deteriorating health, hospital staff refused to provide meals, citing a policy that only supports breastfeeding mothers. Sophie and her husband spent over £1,000 on food during Florence's three-week stay. Sophie launched a petition to change this policy, highlighting the discrimination and financial burden faced by formula-feeding mothers.
