💨 Abstract

Nathan Owens, 34, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his 20-year-old stepdaughter, Carla Georgescu, on her birthday. Owens drove 100 miles to Preston, where he strangled, sexually assaulted, and stabbed Carla. He then staged her death as a suicide and attempted to cover up his crimes by scattering evidence along his return journey. Owens had been sexually obsessed with Carla, doctoring childhood images and filming himself in her bedroom.
