Greg James, the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host, was absent on Tuesday morning due to a planned day off. He had traveled to Manchester to see a friend and attend a concert by The Strokes. Greg posted an "unofficial statement" on Instagram explaining his absence, noting that he was enjoying a well-deserved lie-in. Presenters Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston covered his show.
