đź’¨ Abstract

Apple and Google have released software updates to counter a sophisticated hacking campaign targeting their users. Google patched a security bug in Chrome that was actively exploited, with indications that government-backed hackers were involved. Apple updated its products, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs, fixing two bugs that were used in targeted attacks against specific individuals. Both companies typically address such issues when government hackers use zero-day vulnerabilities to target journalists, activists, and others.
