đź’¨ Abstract
Epic Games' Fortnite is back on the U.S. Google Play Store following a court order that resolved a five-year legal battle over in-app purchase commissions. Google must now allow developers to use alternative payment systems and cap fees. Meanwhile, Epic Games lost some ground in a related lawsuit against Apple, which can still charge fees on external payments and restrict the prominence of alternative payment links. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney praised the Google settlement, emphasizing Android's open platform.
