💨 Abstract
In 2025, India's coal-fired power generation declined by 3%, marking a significant shift driven by record renewable energy deployment. This drop was due to a 44% increase in clean power generation, milder weather reducing air-conditioning demand, and a structural slowdown in power demand growth. Renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, grew substantially, meeting a significant portion of electricity demand, especially during daytime hours.
