💨 Abstract
India's steelmakers have urged the government to impose a temporary tax on cheap imports from China, Japan, and South Korea due to increasing imports causing severe stress and displacing domestic market share. The Indian Steel Association (ISA) has presented this request to the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), stating that the steel industry is undergoing significant losses and uncertainty in funding due to surging imports at predatory prices.
