A joint initiative, 'iSPEED', has been launched by tyre manufacturers and the Rubber Board of India in the Northeast and West Bengal. This five-year project, under the Rs 1,100-crore INROAD project, aims to improve the quality of rubber farmers' produce by providing training and building infrastructure. The industry body, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), is investing in the knowledge and capabilities of rubber growers.
