💨 Abstract

UNESCO's Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, emphasized the role of cultural heritage as a tool for lasting peace during the 47th World Heritage Committee session. She highlighted the growing number of World Heritage Sites and UNESCO's efforts to protect them from conflict, especially in the Middle East. Azoulay mentioned successful rehabilitation projects in Mosul, Damascus, and Aleppo and plans to intervene in Gaza and Khan Yunis.
