💨 Abstract
Ajay Kumar, a former Defence Secretary and IAS officer, has been sworn in as the chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He took the oath administered by Lt Gen Raj Shukla (retd), succeeding Preeti Sudan whose term ended on April 29. The UPSC is responsible for conducting civil services examinations to select officers for various services like the IAS, IFS, and IPS.
