💨 Abstract
A fact-finding committee in Goa determined that a stampede at a temple on May 3, which killed six and injured 100, was entirely preventable. The tragedy occurred due to overcrowding, poor planning, and lack of crowd control on a sloping pathway during the annual festival of Sri Lairai Devi temple. Unruly behavior and previous similar incidents were noted, but organizers and authorities did not take adequate precautions.
