đź’¨ Abstract
India has completed the first-ever population estimation of riverine dolphins in the Ganga, Brahmaputra, and Indus river systems. The exercise, led by the Wildlife Institute of India, covered 8,000 km and included two species: the Ganges river dolphin and the Indus river dolphin. The results will be released soon and will provide a baseline for future assessments.
