💨 Abstract
In Kolkata, thousands of school teachers, who lost their jobs due to a Supreme Court order, protested at the state education department headquarters. They demanded reinstatement and legal steps from the government to make their jobs permanent. The protest came after the court found irregularities in the 2016 recruitment process, canceling jobs of 25,753 staff. Teachers, including some deemed "tainted," insisted they did not engage in fraud and refused to retake the recruitment test.
