đź’¨ Abstract
The Maharashtra government has approved the artificial sand (M-sand) policy to curb the environmental damage caused by excessive natural sand mining. The policy aims to establish 50 M-sand units per district, offering subsidies and industrial incentives. Each unit will receive a Rs 200 per brass subsidy. The policy prioritizes M-sand in public construction projects and mandates quality standards. It aims to reduce reliance on natural sand, create local jobs, and promote environmental conservation.
