đź’¨ Abstract
The Director General of Maharashtra Police has formed a new Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the custodial death of Akshay Shinde, accused in a Badlapur school sexual assault case. The SIT, headed by Additional Commissioner of Police Datta Shinde, has begun a fresh investigation after taking over case documents from the Crime Investigation Department. The SIT's formation follows Supreme Court orders, which directed the state's top police official to constitute the team.
