💨 Abstract
The Indian Railway Ministry has updated its concession forms to replace the term "mentally retarded persons" with "persons with intellectual disability," effective June 1. This change aims to eliminate negative connotations and offensive language. However, activists have noted that the revised forms still use terms like "handicapped" and "divyangjan," which are also considered problematic. The ministry plans to distribute the updated forms across all railway zones to avoid inconvenience.
