💨 Abstract

On Monday, a Kolkata court will announce the sentence for Sanjay Roy, convicted of raping and murdering a doctor at R G Kar Medical College last year. The charges carry a minimum sentence of life imprisonment and a maximum of capital punishment. Roy, a former civic volunteer, was arrested a day after the body of the 31-year-old postgraduate trainee was found in the hospital's seminar room.
