💨 Abstract
The Tamil Nadu government has appealed to the Supreme Court against the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) raids on TASMAC, the state-run liquor retailer. The appeal follows an April 23 Madras High Court order that dismissed pleas challenging the ED's actions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED raids on March 6 and 8 were upheld by the high court, which deemed money laundering a national offense and argued that the searches benefited the nation.
