💨 Abstract

On his last day as Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna announced he would not take on any post-retirement official roles but would continue to engage with the law. Khanna, who retired on May 13, 2025, addressed media and discussed his handling of a controversy involving a high court judge. He also mentioned that his successor, Justice B R Gavai, had similarly stated he would not accept post-retirement assignments.
