💨 Abstract
The Supreme Court of India dismissed a PIL seeking an SIT to investigate violent protests in Murshidabad, West Bengal, following the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The bench, led by Justice Surya Kant, advised the petitioner, Satish Kumar Agarwal, to approach the Calcutta High Court instead. The court noted that the matter was specific to West Bengal and that the High Court had adequate powers to handle it.
