💨 Abstract
The Supreme Court of India ordered an inquiry into alleged forgery after a 94-year-old man, Harish Jaiswal, claimed that his signature was forged in a decades-old property dispute. Jaiswal, who had won favorable judgments in lower courts, was surprised to find that the Supreme Court had disposed of an appeal involving his property based on a settlement agreement he never signed. The court directed its registrar (vigilance) to investigate, and a potential CBI probe was mentioned.
