💨 Abstract

The Kerala State Election Commission launched a probe against former Kerala CPI(M) leader and ex-minister G. Sudhakaran after he admitted to tampering with postal ballots in the 1989 Lok Sabha elections. Sudhakaran claimed that he had altered votes in favor of the CPI(M) candidate in Alappuzha. The incident drew criticism from the opposition Congress, which accused the CPI(M) of electoral fraud.
